Another drabble for Friday flash! It was inspired by this photo from wiki commons.
A bright blue lizard scampered away from her fast-moving heeled legs. She gave it one disapproving look before scowling at the low-slung car in front of her.
A lanky young man exited from it and grinned at her. “Isn’t this place great? Come on, mom, you’ll like it.”
“Insects. Lizards. Birds screaming at ridiculous hours. This is not my idea of fun,” she informed him.
“But I won the dare!” He bounced on his toes. “You have to enjoy yourself. You promised.”
A long drawn out sigh. “So I did. What’s it to be today?”
“Sky diving! Hotdogs for lunch.”

Awesome. I love that picture – and the smoke whorls on your page are SO cool!
That’ll teach her to play games with her son! Nice story, love the photo!
Yep! LOL Thanks Helen
Well, she won’t have to worry about the animal noises for long.
Longer than she likes probably
Wow, she not only has to jump, but she has to enjoy it too!
Love the photo too.
Good job they didn’t have hot dogs first – I wouldn’t fancy eating BEFORE sky diving.
Lovely little flash.
Me either!! I would breakfast on anti nausea pills instead!
Oh. No. Sykydiving and hotdogs for lunch just shouldn’t be in the same sentence! Great little story, I loved the juxtaposition of what the son wants to do and what the mother considers fun.
Cute little story, I think the mom will enjoy it once she gets past the initial part of jumping 🙂
You think so? You been sky diving?
Good thing the order is skydiving then hot dogs. Cute story!
He’s taking his mom skydiving! How cool! But I’m not sure lunch — especially hot dogs — right afterwards is going to work out. Hee hee!
Great little drabble!
Hey they got to eat something! Thanks Far!
Ha ha! Poor mom. I don’t think she’ll be negotiating any dares with her son again. Although, she might just like the skydiving thing more than she realizes. 🙂
Maybe she will! Thanks Chuck
Love the relationship…it’s mature and childish at the same time.
