Succinctly Yours is a weekly meme by grandma. Of this meme she says:
How low can you go?
Use the photo as inspiration for a story of 140 characters OR 140 words. It doesn’t have to be exactly 140, just not more. This one is 139 characters.
“Mommy! Mommy! A lizard! Mommy, look, look! A lizard, Mommy!”
“What have I told you about the wildlife?”
The girl sighed. “To keep away.”
It’s darn tootin’ too bad that the mommy in this story wasn’t Mother Nature herself. Then her little one would indeed stand a chance of making a new little friend! Scaly, of course, but a friend nevertheless. LOL!
Yeah, poor kid. Thanks Sparkle!
The classic tension–child wants to explore, mama wants to protect her child. Good one, Sonia!
Thanks Pat! Yep!
Well done. The child has picked up the parent angst. Happens all the time, poor little kids!

Yeah. Though I think this time, the mother meant for that happen. (All the better to keep the child away from any odd creatures)
Aww mommy but it’s only a lizard and sooo pretty, please mommy!
I can see a glum look on the childs face now, but relief in the mother’s. ^_^
LOL Yes, me too. And it’s almost a dialogue only piece, too.
Ah, the mixed feelings. Excellently done.
Thanks Anthony!
Nice MF. I can feel the disappointment in the child’s voice.
Yeah! Wonder if you still could if I took out the The girl sighed bit.
Aw it doesn’t do any harm to look does it? Shame.
I wouldn’t think so, no. LOL
Nice. I recall being at the pool one day a few summers back and my friend’s little boy caught an iridescent lizard. I was happy when she told him to let it go. Poor little thing! (The lizard, not the boy!) He was happy to be able to scamper off to safety.
I bet. Being caught would be so scary.
Um, mommy is right… LOL!
Mommy knows best! LOL Thanks Susan
