Succinctly Yours: Gran’s Shop

Succinctly Yours is a weekly meme by grandma. Of this meme she says:

How low can you go?

Use the photo as inspiration for a story of 140 characters OR 140 words. It doesn’t have to be exactly 140, just not more. This one is 140 characters.

I opened a window. Icy wind was better than stale air. A clean shop would make her happy, even if she couldn’t do a thing with broken hands.

      1. Err, it totally was eerie, though! Great shop, old fashioned – obviously a serious carpenter/wood crafter with a background (family history?). Barn means rural area? A long row of tools, looking as though they’d been passed down, generation to generation? The pronoun “she,” signaling a female carpenter. Broken hands? No way she can work, now. No way she can finish some masterpiece? Or put out a prototype of some groundbreaking thing? Who would want to prevent whatever it is??? So who is on her side now? Who will clean up for her? What will they have access to?

        1. Yeah, I figured grandma for a serious carpenter. But I had pictured her breaking both hands accidentally. Mind, I am not entirely sure what kind of accident would do that.

  1. Sometimes a clean room will make everything else seem a little more right. Poor Granny! Hopefully she has some grandchildren to fulfill her wish.

Say something and make my day!
